1st assignment of Semester 2

Color Theory

Conplementary Color Grid

Completed on March 3rd 2010

The assignment was to find a work of art. Grid out a interesting section of the picture then turn it into a 12in by 12in peice using Primary colors and their conplementary shades without have the same color touch itself.

I chose to do a peice of the Artist H.R. Giger who's style is very unique. This was an extremely difficult challenge to complete because the level of detail and different color shades. I still don't think it is completely done but that's my opinion. H.R. Giger is my favorite artist considering he designed "ALIEN" for the 1979 movie. The peice was composed on a peice of canvas which is new to me. I am used to working on masonite board and did not like working on canvas.

Our Assignment was to create a herritage project for an upcoming show at a gallery for Mexican Art. We had to display our herritage in a style of a Mexican Artist of our choice. I chose Fransico De Goya. Since I'm mostly Irish I chose to do my herritage in a greenish tone. The Painting is about Catholic Beliefs in Ireland. The Original Painting was to be the war of Protestants and Catholics but my boss thought it would be offensive.
