Madison Cabral is a creative and open-minded senior who attends Beacon Charter High School, with a dedicated passion for Culinary Arts. (Maddie) has been interested in Culinary Arts ever since she was in elementary school and has dreamed of attending Johnson and Wales. She has always watched the Food Network channel and endlessly gets inspired by Ina Garten. Maddie has always helped in the kitchen for holidays or even just a simple meal with her family. After freshman year, she realized she did not want to pursue her dream of culinary. Currently her dream schools are Boston University and Emmanuel College. At this point in during her senior year, she has been accepted to Emmanuel. She knows how much her education is worth, so she really wants to make sure she is choosing her best option. Even though she does not want to pursue culinary as a profession she thinks of it as her hobby. Now, she wants to major in Marketing and Public Relations. Madison came to Beacon for a higher education for her academics and her art. At first going to Beacon was difficult, she was going to leave her friends from her original school but, they helped Maddie by telling her that they are glad she got into Beacon because of her passion for culinary and this was a great oppurtuinity for her. After three years at Beacon she is very excited that she made the decision to come, with all of her great achievements she has made during her freshman and sophomore year.

Maddie wanting a higher education, entered Beacon Charter as a freshman taking tenth-grade English and geometry. As a junior, she finished a Pre Calc/ Trigonometry course, which was during the first semester of her Junior year and then took an optional Calculus class and English 12. She recieved this oppurtunity when she was in middle school, there was one class that allowed you to take the grade above, English and math. So, in seventh grade, Maddie took eighth grade English and Pre-Algebra. In eighth, grade she took Algebra and English-9. While loving this oppurtunity, Maddie is very pleased with the education at Beacon since at her prior school, poorly taught the cirriculum. Now, as a current senior, Maddie is enrolled into the Dual Enrollment Program at the University of Rhode Island, and is taking courses at URI for her senior year.  Madison takes her education very seriously and hopes that she will succeed in high school to be enrolled into a great college. Recently, Maddie just decided to become a student at Emmanuel College where she will be majoring in marketing.

Besides her academics, Maddie was elected the new Vice President of Beacon's student council. Every Tuesday she helped student council by coming up with ideas and supporting the president of student council. Then the day following, she would talk in front of the whole school with other student council officers, regarding new events that are taking place. Her sophomore year, she was the Secretary of Student Council. Madison has also been accepted into the National Honor Society, she was then elected by peers of NHS the secretary of National Honor Society for the school during her junior year and then elected Vice President for senior year. Maddie was part of Skills USA, as well helping plan service events took part in a Baking Competition with her school. She also takes place in helping out with Yearbook. Additionally, Maddie enjoys playing soccer. In middle school she played on her middle school’s first girls soccer team. She played on her town softball league in her sophomore year. Also, she was manager of her middle school’s softball team helping the head coach and the players travel and do the statistics. In addition to academics and extracurriculars, she enjoys helping her community. Madison has helped McGuire PTA (Parent Teacher Association) with events and fundraisers, averaging approxiamately fifty hours of service each school year. Another event that has been very important within her high school career, Maddie is in the proecess of partnering United Way and her high school, Beacon Charter. This is a great experience because this has allowed Maddie to gain relationships from organizations and gather volunteers for community service. In conclusion, Maddie hopes to be prepared for college and be recognized for the work she has done.
