For my community service, I had volunteered to go around Woonsocket helping local residences by cleaning up their yards after the harsh winter months. We spent a majority of our time raking and mowing lawns, I mostly helped out with the elderly or physically handicapped. I did still help the community as a whole, and over all I think I greatly impacted my neighborhood by not only making it a cleaner place but by making people happy.

At first I wasn't exited by the idea of completing my community service at all, but after a great amount of time preforming my services I actually started to enjoy it. The people who I helped were very thankful and it made me proud of myself. It was really hard work at first, but after some time passed it became a routine and time flew by in what felt like minutes and as an added bonus, I actually got to use a lot of really cool power tools and made some new friends.

I had so much fun doing what I had done, I would gladly do it again. What made me like the experience the most was how it made so many people happy. I enjoy physical labor, so I really enjoyed completing my community service. I would recommend similar activities to anybody I know, it was very fun and made me feel good about myself. I would not like to pursue a career in this category but I would enjoy helping people.
