     For this project, the junior painting class had to create a creative self-portrait for a painting and make a PowerPoint. The painting did not have to be of you but of something that makes you yourself.  For the project, the students have to use either cubism, impressionism, or surrealism in their painting using what we have learned during the semester. During the project, we had to take pictures of the process so that we could later add them to a PowerPoint.  The tools I used were a 16" by 20" canvas, a variety of acrylic paint, different paint brushes, a camera, and Microsoft Office. Some strengths I had during this assignment were washing the sky, sketching the rough draft, painting the first layer of paint, and making the PowerPoint. Weaknesses I had were, getting the crocodile's scales and head accurate. Also, I had trouble getting texture in the mud. This made me work harder on little pieces of the painting to improve the painting. I wish I had rehighlighted the jumping spider into the painting, because it does not pop out like it did at first. Overall, I hope this made painting and the antomy of animals easier for myself, so that I can work more on art with animals in thhe future. I hope to work better on painting textures on animals like skin, scales, and fur.

     For this assignment, I received an 95 on the painting and an 90 on the PowerPoint.
