Self-Portrait
A standard assignment for visual artists is to create a self-portrait. In my junior year, I created an acrylic painting of myself that I am very proud of. The painting came out better than I thought it would, and I am pleased to have this image of myself captured for all of time. To begin the process, I sketched out my image on an 18 x 36 size paper. I did a rough outline with pencil, and then I figured out the color of paint I would need for my skin. I began with my face so that I could keep it light. I kept a sample of each paint color on a piece of paper so that I can match the different shades.
